Some ten years ago when BWSI only had around thirty (30) branches, the President, Mr. Cristino Panlilio, projected to have seventy (70) branches by the year 2020. This ambitious goal was accomplished this fourth quarter of 2020 and is even surpassed by three units.
The Company has now signed up 73 branches – sixty-five of which are already operational while eight are under construction and/or rehabilitation. The 69th branch is the Joint Venture between BWSI and the Macabebe Water District.
Through the grant of a greater barangay coverage by the Angeles City government, the home city of BWSI—the largest concession by the Company—has gotten even bigger and shall now be inclusive of its new sectors Angeles City West and Angeles City East allowing the company to serve more Angeleños with top quality Level III water supply and distribution services.
The company thus welcomes these three additional franchises this 4th quarter of 2020 — Angeles City West (70th branch) & Angeles City East (71st branch) in Pampanga, and the Municipality of San Pascual in Batangas (72nd branch).
In addition, BWSI has energized its two brand new water treatment facilities in Sto. Tomas and Arayat, Pampanga. These facilities were designed and developed in house by our Special Projects Department (SPD) led by the Vice President for Engineering, Engr. Ponciano T. Cruz. These WTPs will comprise the 73rd branch.
When interviewed, Mr. Panlilio reminisced that he targeted 70 branches to coincide with his 70th birthday in 2021 which will also be his last year as President. Mr. Panlilio is scheduled to retire in December 2021. These milestones are a testament to Mr. Panlilio’s indefatigable spirit and leadership leading the company to the resilient growth that it continues to experience!
